How is cancer Effectively treated in 2015?


There are number of methods used to treat cancer. The aim is to remove the cancerous cells, rebuild the dead cancer cells while making sure the cancer does not come back.

The Growth of Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Cancer Patients
Interest in Complementary and Alternative Medicine has grown steadily throughout the United States. Reported usage of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) among American Adults is now over 60%.
Individuals undergoing cancer treatment and therapy have equally higher rates of usage. CAM activities such as diet, exercise, alkalinity. meditation, and spirituality have become commonly accepted and practiced in health care facilities across the nation.
It is important to remember that no large scale clinical trials have found any alternative or complementary therapies to be able to reduce or eliminate cancer on their own. There are countless anecdotes and personal stories of individuals “beating cancer by simply doing — “but it is advisable for patients to be careful of less than scrupulous CAM practitioners. With that said, many physicians agree that there are numerous CAM therapies that can play a valuable role in helping to manage cancer therapy related symptoms.

A fellow by the name of Don Porter (himself a stage 4 eight year cancer cure man, has had impressive success with a temporary high pH (Alkalinity) using   a Baking Soda Protocol with Baking Soda mixed with Black Strap Molasses, or maple syrup for 11 days. Yoga and meditation are two excellent examples of CAM therapies that can play a role in helping to improve a cancer patient’s quality of life. Both are ancient practices with roots in India and usage in Ayurvedic medicine. In relation to modern cancer care, they each have been found as a great way forcancer patients to reduce anxiety, stress, and mood disturbances. Yoga, specifically, has been found to be great for improving flexibility, balance, and range of motion for certain patients. Both Yoga and meditation have seen tremendous growth in terms of public acceptance throughout the past ten years. Yoga especially has become something of a cultural trend; spawning things such as the yoga pant, yoga body, and yoga mommy. In regards to healthcare, many large health care facilities now offer a wide range of yoga and meditation based classes for a huge variety of patients.

Not every CAM option has been found to be clinically helpful or significant. Many popular forms of “alternative medicine” have little to no large-scale clinical validation. Homeopathy is an ideal example of an extremely popular and mainstream alternative medical practice with virtually no large scale clinical validation. Homeopathy is a complex European medical practice with a wide range of very controversial tenets. Homeopathy is most famous for its law of minimum dose – the idea that the lower the dose of the medication, the greater its potency. Most recently, homeopathic practitioners came under popular media fire for recommending homeopathic vaccinations for children rather than state and government recommended vaccinations. When tested, the homeopathic vaccinations were found to be unable to prevent infection of the designated diseases and were thus highly likely to expose children to risk.


In conclusion, cancer patients and their physicians should seek out the most evidence based practices that are the most likely to have a positive effect on their therapies. For health care providers it is important to work to create an environment of trust in which a patient feels comfortable talking about and asking about CAM options. CAM options work best when used in conjunction with conventional medicine and as such it is crucial that health care providers understand the complete treatment picture in order to avoid potentially adverse outcomes. Current data indicates that Diet, Stress, Alkalinity, Organic foods are Important contributors to an efficient cancer treatment plan!

We also have come to believe that vaccines are the reason we don’t get sick. But there is one single factor most people don’t consider that can make or break our immunity – the makeup of bacteria in our bodies.

Vaccine Advocate Says Children Can Receive 10,000 Vaccines at Once

It’s important for parents to at least consider the potential dangers and lack of necessity of vaccinations. Now some pediatricians are withholding treatment for children whose parents’ have rejected all or some vaccinations – this simply isn’t right. But it’s important not to cave in to those pressures, and continue researching vaccines from multiple sources.
Dr. Paul Offit once publicly remarked that children can safely receive 100,000 vaccines at once. He later changed that to 10,000. Unfortunately, this leading pediatrician who holds influential University and Clinical positions has media clout and has been interviewed often.
He has written publications refuting vaccination dangers and condemning those who refuse vaccinations for their children, even to the point of encouraging pediatricians to not provide care for children not vaccinated.
Of course, Offit has made sure Merck’s Rotavirus vaccine Rotateq® is included as part of early childhood vaccine schedules. Merck awarded Offit a grant of $350,000 to help develop the vaccine, and he has partial patent rights as well, which have recently been sold for a one time healthy profit of $180 million. This undoubtedly is not the only conflict of interest.
Offit has made these outrageous claims of the vaccination capacity of infants, while assuring their immune systems are able to handle quite a bit in their newly inhabited world. Though passed on by mainstream media without question, his statements are totally false.
But his authoritative bluster does intimidate or confuse the public while boosting his vaccine industry revenue.

At a vaccine seminar, Dr. Michael Geta was part of a four member panel answering questions from the audience. One audience member asked why infants are getting vaccinated before the age of one when their immune systems aren’t developed enough for vaccine immune responses.
The person on the panel to whom it was addressed, a PhD vaccine advocate, surprised Geta when she told the questionnaire his understanding was accurate. She explained that early scheduling was a training exercise to start parents vaccinating sooner since they might forget after the child reached one year.
The PhD, whose name was withheld by her request, went on to explain how a county nurse had asked her to encourage parents to get their kids vaccinated after one year of age because the ones they got before then were worthless. The Ph.D responded to that nurse with “Yeah, I know.” The audio clip is here.
Dr. Geta explains:
‘Infants in their first year mostly depend on generalized, non-specific immunity, including (hopefully) immunoglobulins from breast milk, to protect their young bodies from infection. They do not produce antibodies of their own until about age one.’
Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome Book (GAPS book) and creator of the GAPS diet goes further. She is a UK pediatrician who successfully treats autistic and other mentally and physically dysfunctional children by nutritionally restoring gut flora. She learned how by treating her own son’s autism.
She agrees that mother’s breast milk is crucial. But not all mothers breast feed, and many who do may have other problems that hamper the milk’s protection. According to Dr. McBride, the problems begin with the mother’s intestinal flora.
The mother passes on her gut flora to her newborn. So the mother’s gut flora strength and balance is critical. Most mothers who were not breast fed initially and grew up on standard American diets (SAD) while receiving vaccinations and antibiotics have compromised gut flora.
Adequate probiotic and balanced gut flora accounts for up to 80% of our immunity. As part of parental planning, it makes sense to maintain a good diet, take in probiotic foods and/or supplements, avoid antibiotics and vaccinations, then breast feed the child for at least a year. Interestingly, a recent report says that breastfeeding could save 830,000 lives each year.
Vaccinations and antibiotics given to newborns and older children only puts them at risk for debilitating long term neurological reactions, among other issues. If they escape without the obvious immediate adverse reactions, their long term immunity is often heavily impaired.

Starving Cancer to Death by Removing one Food: Refined Sugar

sugarWhile all of our cells need glucose (a form of sugar which is turned into energy), cancer thrives on a body full of simple carbohydrates (which become sugar in the body) and refined sugars that come from processed foods and overly sweet goodies. If you or someone you know is suffering from cancer, one of the best things they can do is take away the disease’s favorite food – sugar.

Dr. Otto Wartburg and other health experts have been talking about how cancer loves sugar since the 1920s, but surprisingly many doctors don’t tell their cancer patients that as long as they continue to eat processed foods full of the stuff, they will likely have a more difficult time fighting this disease.The German physiologist, leading biochemist, medical doctor, and Nobel laureate was convinced that you could starve cancer right out of the body. While it may not always be that easy, this is something that could significantly change the game.
His theory was that malignant cells and tumor growth was caused by cells that generated energy via adenosine triphosphate (ATP) through a nonoxidative breakdown of glucose (sugar). The recycling of the metabolite from this process called glycolysis and the circulation of adhA back into the body caused anaerobic respiration. This is the reverse of what happens with healthy cells. Healthy, non-cancerous cells generate energy for the body to use through the oxidative breakdown of pyruvate, the end product of glycolysis, which leads to oxidized mitochondria. He therefore concluded that cancer was really a mitochondrial dysfunction. The normal process of respiration of oxygen in the body is changed to the fermentation of sugar. If you remove the sugar, the body should not develop cancer.
The connection between sugar and cancer development is certainly not new.
Most people can easily remove the obvious culprits that are full of refined sugar – cakes, candies, cookies, etc. The problem is that many foods which are packaged and sold in the US and in other countries are full of refined sugar, but just very sneakily hidden in the packaging labels. Things like ‘healthy’ yogurt, cereals, whole wheat or whole grain breads, and even ‘low-calorie’ items can be full of sugar.
The easiest way to eliminate unwanted refined sugars is to stop buying ‘convenience’ or pre-packaged foods, and at least temporarily, don’t eat out at restaurants – many dining establishments source their food from big companies that ‘season’ their food with lots of sugar and salt to make it more palatable after being frozen and shipped across the country in trucks. Even salad dressings can be loaded with sugar. To deal with cravings for sugary foods, increase your plant-based and healthy animal based proteins (no red meat) and eat more nutrition-packed foods.

IT is likely the first person who will live to be 1,000 years old is already alive today.
This is according to a growing regiment of researchers who believe a biological revolution enabling humans to experience everlasting youthfulness is just around the corner.  At the epicentre of the research is Aubrey de Grey — a Cambridge gerontologist and co-founder or the California-based Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence(SENS) Research Foundation.
“The first thing I want to do is get rid of the use of this word immortality, because it’s enormously damaging, it is not just wrong, it is damaging,” he told Motherboard.
“It means zero risk of death from any cause — whereas I just work on one particular cause of death, namely ageing.”
Mr de Grey said his research aims to undo the damage done by the wear and tear of life, as opposed to stopping the ageing process altogether.
“If we ask the question: ‘Has the person been born who will be able to escape the ill health of old age indefinitely?’ Then I would say the chances of that are very high,” he said.
“Probably about 80%.”

To achieve longevity, de Grey is developing a therapy to kill cells that have lost the ability to divide, allowing healthy cells to multiply and replenish the tissue.
“The therapies that we are working on at the moment are not going to be perfect,” he said.
“These therapies are going to be good enough to take middle age people, say people aged 60, and rejuvenate them thoroughly enough so they won’t be biologically 60 again until they are chronologically 90.
“That means we have essentially bought 30 years of time to figure out how to re-rejuvenate them when they are chronologically 90 so they won’t be biologically 60 for a third time until they are 120 or 150.
“I believe that 30 years is going to be very easily enough time to do that.”
Mr de Grey explained his technique for achieving eternal youthfulness is far more likely to be developed before the theories explored by other gerontologist that focus on preventing the metabolism from causing damage to the body.
“We will be able to keep one step ahead of the problem and keep rejuvenating the same people as long as we like,” he said
“The big breakthrough in terms of publicity will be when we can take middle aged mice in the laboratory and rejuvenate them.
“Once we can do it for mice, people are going to know that it’s only a matter of time before we can do it for human beings.
“So that’s where I want to get to and I think we have a fair chance of getting there in six to eight years from now.”

Many specific proteins, enzymes and coding within our immune system may be activated to kill cancer cells. There is no such thing as a cancer cell that cannot be defeated by the human immune system. The difference between cancers that grow and those that don't,  are what we put in our bodies to prohibit their growth. Proteins can be rendered ineffective if cells experience uncontrolled growth though damage or mutations to DNA or if toxins through food and chemical pollution override the immune system's natural function. Here are 10 functional foods which suppresses tumour development during immune surveillance in the human body.
Scientists have found that healthy cells damaged by chemotherapy secreted more of a protein which boosts cancer cell survival. Chemotherapy has been proven to cause cancer cells to interact with nearby tumour cells and cause them to grow, invade, and importantly, resist subsequent therapy. Where conventional medical treatment fails cancer patients, natural foods succeed.
In a study published in the journal 
Science Translational Medicine, scientists identified a molecule, known as TIC10, which activates a protein that helps fight the disease. The protein, called TRAIL (tumour-necrosis-factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand) suppresses tumour development it can actually cross the blood-brain barrier, which separates the main circulatory system from the brain.
Through the body's infinite wisdom, its systems recognize foreign invaders and poisons such as chemotherapy which are not beneficial for the brain. Many cancer drugs are consequently blocked from passing the blood-brain barrier. However, TRAIL is permitted passage due to its beneficial effects on the 
immune system.

Another positive is that TIC10 does not just activate the TRAIL gene in cancerous cells, but also in healthy ones. This is known as the 'bystander effect' - i.e. where cells near cancerous cells are also killed.Nearby healthy cells are also given a boost to increase the number of cancer-killing TRAIL receptors on their cell surface.
10 FUNCTIONAL FOODS THAT INHIBIT TUMORS
 1. Turmeric

Curcumin, possibly the most powerful antioxidant known from the popular Indian spice Turmeric, has countless health benefits. A recent study led by a research team in Munich showed that it can also inhibit formation of metastases.
Curcumin exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects by inhibiting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), suggesting that its effect on endothelial function may be mediated by the suppression of inflammation and/or oxidative stress via down-regulation of TNF-alpha.
One of the most comprehensive summaries of a review of 700 turmeric studies to date was published by the respected ethnobotanist James A. Duke, Phd. He showed that 
turmeric appears to outperform many pharmaceuticals in its effects against several chronic, debilitating diseases, and does so with virtually no adverse side effects. 
2. Sea Vegetables
Nori, hijiki, wakame, arame, kombu and kelp are just a few of several varieties of sea vegetables with potent effects on cancer. They are a rich source of many wonderful minerals, including magnesium, calcium, iron, nd bioavailable iodine. But since chronic, unwanted inflammation and chronic oxidative stress are both risk factors for development of cancer, it would be quite natural for scientists to be interested in sea vegetables are anti-cancer foods not only in the case of colon cancer, but for other types of cancer as well. Sea vegetables are well-researched as containing a variety of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds, and this nutrient combination delivers some risk-lowering benefits in the case of colon cancer and other cancer types.
Of special note in this area of cancer and sea vegetables is the issue of estrogen-related cancers, especially breast cancer. Intake of sea vegetables appears able to modify various aspects of a woman's normal menstrual cycle in such a way that over long periods of time (tens of years) the total cumulative estrogen secretion that occurs during the follicular phase of the cycle gets reduced.
3. Grapes and Resveratrol
Resveratrol is a phenolic compound that contributes to the antioxidant potential of red grapes.
Resveratrol is not only an antioxidant and antimutagen, but also reduces oxidant-caused cell death. Resveratrol has been shown to inhibit production of nitric oxide and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-A) by lipopolysaccharide-stimulated Kuppfer cells. Kuppfer cells are macrophages fixed in place in the liver. Their chronic overproduction of nitric oxide and TNF-A due to chronic infection can cause severe liver damage.
Perhaps Resveratrol's most important property is its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (CoX-2). CoX-2 is related to cancers and abnormal growths in the intestinal tract. Natural CoX-2 inhibitors such as resveratrol have been shown to reduce the occurrence of cancers and pre-cancerous growths. So while pharmaceutical companies race to find complex agents that inhibit CoX-2, the ingredient is already present in red grapes which if consumed daily (or via organic grape juice) will protect against tumors naturally. 
4. Chlorella and Spirulina 
Scientists in South Korea recently found that carotenoids from chlorella may be effectively used to prevent cancer in humans. They discovered the primary carotenoid from C. ellipsoidea is violaxanthin, while the major carotenoid from C. vulgaris is lutein. They examined the activity of semi-purified extracts of these carotenoids against human cancer and found they inhibited cancer cell growth in a dose-dependent manner.
Chlorophyll neutralizes environmental toxins and pollutants. It helps the blood carry oxygen to all cells and tissues. Cancer cannot thrive in cells that are fully oxygenated. Chlorophyll plays a part in chlorella's ability to detoxify heavy metals, and is a natural wound healer. There is evidence that chlorophyll reduces the ability of carcinogens to bind with DNA in major organs. Its anti-mutagenic properties make it protective against toxins such as pharmaceutical drugs.
Spirulina simply is unable to remove heavy metals like chlorella does, as it lacks a cell membrane, however it shows significant immune-boosting properties. It is is made of a spiral strand which gives it its name. Spirulina is rich in vitamins B, E, K and beta carotene as well as iron and magnesium and essential fatty acids. It contains amino acids that promote improved mental functioning, vitality and energy, and balanced blood sugar. According to a
 study done in China, selenium-infused spirulina inhibited the growth of breast cancer cells.
5. Green Tea
The health benefits of green tea are due to the presence of a group of plant flavonoids called catechins. Of particular interest to researchers is epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG), the primary catechin in green tea. For example, South Korean researchers have found that EGCG blocks TNF naturally by interfering with the ability of certain pro-inflammatory chemicals to bind to cells of smooth muscle tissue of the vascular system. In a 2009 study conducted by the Chonbuk National University Medical School, it was noted that the specific mechanism of action of EGCG in terms of blocking TNF is the suppression of fractalkine, an inflammatory agent specifically involved in the development of arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.
6. Cruciferous Vegetables
Cruciferous vegetables contain vitamins, minerals, other nutrients, and chemicals known as glucosinolates. These chemicals break down into several biologically active compounds that are known to possess anticancer effects.Arugula, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, turnips and collard greens are a few among many different types of cruciferous vegetables which are rich in nutrients, including several carotenoids (beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin); vitamins C, E, and K; folate; and minerals.
Biologically active compounds such as indoles, nitriles, thiocyanates, and isothiocyanates in these vegetables prevent cancer by protecting cells from DNA damage, helping inactivate carcinogens, inducing cell death of carcinogens and inhibiting tumor blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) and tumor cell migration (needed for metastasis). For total glucosinolate content, turnip greens outscore cabbage, kale, cauliflower, and broccoli among the most commonly eaten cruciferous vegetables. 
7. Tomatoes
Regular consumption of tomato and its products is being consistently associated with lower risk of several types of cancer and, to a lesser extent, coronary heart disease. Among the many tomato components credited with healthful properties, carotenoids and particularly lycopene are being actively investigated.

Modest effects of the regular intake of a tomato juice provides small amounts of carotenoids which were found on the production of inflammatory mediators, such as TNF-alpha. TNF-alpha production by whole blood was found to be more than 30% lower after almost a month of consuming raw tomato juice.
8. Medicinal Mushrooms
Mushrooms have been used for at least 5000 years for nutritional and medicinal purposes. Anti-viral and anti-cancer effects have been demonstrated in more than 50 species through animal and in vitro studies. Six components of these mushrooms have been investigated for their activity in human cancers: the lentinan component of shiitake, schizophyllan, active hexose correlated compound (AHCC), maitake D-fraction and two components of Coriolus versicolor.

Coriolus versicolor is an extremely common polypore mushroom which can be found throughout the world. Versicolor means 'of several colours' and it is true that this mushroom is found in a wide variety of different colours as depicted in the image above. It is also recognized as a medicinal mushroom in Chinese medicine under the name yun zhi.

Polysaccharide-K (PSK), is a protein-bound polysaccharide isolated fromTrametes versicolor, which is used as an immune system boosting agent in the treatment of cancer in some European countries as well as China and Japan. In Japan, PSK is approved as an adjuvant for cancer therapy and is covered by government health insurance.

PSK displays anticancer activity from preliminary laboratory assessmentsin vitro, in vivo and in human clinical trials. Preliminary research has shown that the PSK might reduce mutagen-induced, radiation-induced, and spontaneously-induced development of experimental cancer cell preparations.
9. Garlic
The study, published online in the journal Cancer Prevention Research,notes that Chinese medicine has usedgarlic since 2000 BCE. The authors suggest compounds such as diallyl sulfide--that are released when a garlic bulb breaks into cloves--may contribute to the herb's potential preventative powers.

A number of studies on garlic have appeared dealing with diallyl sulfide and cancer. One from the Republic of Korea cites diallyl disulfide (DADS) as the most prevalent oil-soluble sulfur compound in garlic, inhibiting cell proliferation in many cell lines. Scientists there examined DADS ability to kill cells in a process involving free radical production. They found that the famous tumor suppressor gene, p53, arrested the cell cycle when DADS treatment was present. Cancer cells died following 24 hour DADS treatment that activated the p53 gene. They also found that DADS induced cell death was prevented by treatment with a compound known to prevent p53 dependent cell death by reducing free radical levels in the mitochrondria, the cellular furnaces. Their results showed that mitochrondrial free radicals may serve as second messengers in DADS-induced cell death, which requires activation of p53. That study was found in the Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology.

Allicin - which gives garlic its aroma and flavour - acts as the world's most powerful antioxidant. Allicin compound has to decompose in order to generate a potent antioxidant. The reaction between the sulfenic acid and radicals is as fast as it can get, limited only by the time. Garlic oil and powder supplements are produced by distilling fresh garlic, and then diluting it with other substances rendering them ineffective. When this hormone latches onto a breast cancer cell, it has been found to counteract estrogen's tendency to stimulate cell growth.
